HMB Cougar Boosters

General Eligibility Criteria

• Any athlete or team nominated for induction to the Hall of Fame must be a graduate of Half Moon Bay High School (HMBHS) and in good standing.
• The individual or team must have graduated from HMBHS at least seven years ago. For school officials at least three years after leaving the employ of Half Moon Bay High School.
• The individual or team must have participated in a CIF/CCS sanctioned sport in association with the high school athletic department or achieved success in multiple sports in a single school year.

Athletes

• Individual sports (cross-country, wrestling, tennis, track and field, swimming, golf, gymnastics)
• Team from team sports (football, basketball, baseball, softball soccer volleyball, water polo). Recommended that nominations also meet three (3) of five (5) criteria:
  1. 2X first-team all-league member
  2. League MVP
  3. San Mateo All County Team - 1st
  4. San Mateo County Player of the Year
  5. Team Record Holder

Coaches

• Three years must elapse after completion of their tenure as a coach at Half Moon Bay High School before consideration is given for selection. They must be 55 years old or older.
• They are examples of good character and citizenship.
• No member of the committee will be eligible for nomination while serving on the selection committee.
• Will have at least 10 years at High Moon Bay High School.
• Winning Record during tenure at High Moon Bay High School.
• Significant contributions to their respective sport and the Half Moon Bay Athletic program.

Community Members

• Who have made an outstanding contribution to Half Moon Bay High School Athletics program.
• Who have made a major impact in achieving excellence for the athletic program at Half Moon Bay High School
